Countless hours of Monty Python laid the foundation of my sense of fun and funny. Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, Janet Evanovich, Christopher Moore, and Carl Hiaasen are my icons of wit. Joe Abercrombie, Rachel Howzell Hall, Jonathan Maberry, and John Gilstrap are my idols of pace. And the Bowen Gillings Mt. Rushmore of immersion includes Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, Mary Robinette Kowal, Tolkien, and Carol Berg.

Born in Wisconsin, I grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota, matriculated in Minnesota and Alaska, and bounced around Europe with the Army. Now I love living in Colorado with my wife and daughter.
