Feel free to scroll down through my old blog entries but you won’t find much since December 2023. That’s because I’ve shifted my focus to producing a regular newsletter for my followers. So, if you want to stay up to date on what’s going on in my world, click below and subscribe. You’ll get a free ebook as a thank you from me!

To celebrate my 50th birthday I am taking two big leaps. One, the family and I are going on a once-in-a-lifetime vacation to build memories and fulfill lifelong dreams. Two, I’m dropping the price on every ebook to $.99. Between December 10-12 every ebook I’ve published is available for less money than ANYTHING on the MacDonald’s value menu. A bottle of Yoo-hoo costs more. So does a pack of Trident. I invite you to join my birthday celebration by taking advantage of my poor, cake-and ice-cream-addled business sense. Each title is $.99.

And other niceties Last month I sent out a call for help: naming my work in progress. I set up a contest running until June 16, promising the top five entries would then be offered up to you to pick the winner. Well, some things changed over the last month, mainly that I only received three title ideas. So, after shuffling and sorting and pondering through that deep field of contenders, I narrowed the field. Then I engaged in wordplay. It has been an exciting (and exhausting) month thus far: weird weather, kid camps, book release, and preparing myself for dual-hatting it this weekend as both emcee and faculty at the 30th Annual Pikes Peak Writers Conference. So let’s talk promos and PPWC! Exceptionals came out a week ago and my, what nice things you all have said about it (insert image of me blushing). Coinciding with the release of my first novel is a promotion around my novella A Night to Remember. Right now, you can download the ebook for $.99. Well, not on… Read Article →

Exceptionals is out and available NOW! And I have a gift for you as an enticement/thank you for being a StoriesbyBowen aficionado. Exceptionals evolved from an award-winning short story to a novel over the course of a couple years. Submissions, revisions, and hard decisions later, I am proud to bring this humorous supernatural thriller come love story… Read Article →

Happy Valentine’s Day! Those of you who read last Friday’s article on author Donnell Ann Bell’s blog learned about a weird story involving clowns and runaway acrobats. If you missed it, check it out here. Long story short, the book that grew from that weird tale of inspiration is ready to see the light. Exceptionals is available for pre-order and due to release on April 18, 2023! Exceptionals is a novel that started as short story response to a writing prompt at an improvisational writing session. Now, after years of submitting the manuscript to the… Read Article →

I have a new release coming out tomorrow, Wednesday, February 1st. First Family is the humorous story of a day in the life of Adam and Eve. Dad kicked them out of Eden so they settled in the suburbs. Here Adam keeps busy naming everything in Creation while Eve fixes his blunders and pines for a vacation. Meanwhile, their two live-in sons have a case of sibling rivalry that would make a therapist’s career. When Dad drops a line saying he’s coming for a visit, it opens up a world of possibility for Adam and… Read Article →
